SAMIA (SAM) HANAFI NETTLES was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 31, 1981. Sam graduated from the College of Charleston in 2003 with a B.A. in Historic Preservation, and from Georgia State University in 2004 with a Masters Degree in Historic Preservation. Sam received her J.D. from the Charleston School of Law in 2007. While there, she was Articles Editor of the Charleston Law Review. Upon graduation from the Charleston School of Law, Sam clerked for The Honorable Deadra L. Jefferson of the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Charleston, South Carolina. She is admitted to the South Carolina Supreme Court, U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute. Her practice areas include Construction Law, Personal Injury, Insurance Coverage and Extra-Contractual Litigation Defense, Commercial and Business Litigation, Land Use and Appellate Practice.
